WASA Warns Against Phone Solicitations for Tap Water Testing
It has come to the attention of the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (WASA) that residents in the District are receiving phone calls from a company offering to test their tap water. The caller, representing itself as Atlantic Water, claims District tap water contains impurities that may be reason for concern. These solicitations are not sanctioned nor endorsed by WASA.
The drinking water that WASA distributes to homes, businesses and more than 500,000 citizens in the District of Columbia is in full compliance with federal Safe Drinking Water Act regulations for health and safety. Customers with concerns or questions about the quality of their tap water should contact the WASA Water Quality Division, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 202-612-3440 or e-mail waterquality@dcwasa.com.
