Director, Engineering & Technical Services

Craig A. Fricke is currently the Director of the Department of Engineering and Technical Services at DC Water in the District of Columbia.  In this capacity, Mr. Fricke oversees the Capital Improvement Program for the water and sewer systems in the District of Columbia.  This currently includes nearly $100M of projects annually.  Mr. Fricke has been in this role since March 2017.

Prior to that, Mr. Fricke was the Manager for Enterprise Asset Management at DC Water in the District of Columbia.  In this capacity, Mr. Fricke provided enterprise-wide leadership in the development, implementation and oversight of DC Water’s asset management program. 

Prior to joining DC Water, Mr. Fricke worked for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) for nearly 30 years.  His most recent position there was Planning Group Leader which included similar responsibilities for WSSC’s asset management program.

Before joining WSSC, Mr. Fricke was a project engineer with Camp Dresser & McKee.

Mr. Fricke has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in environmental and water resources engineering from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Fricke is a licensed professional Engineer in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
