Jason Hughes

Vice President, Water Operations

Jason Hughes serves the Authority as Vice President, Water Operations.  In this capacity, Mr. Hughes directs all activities associated with operating and maintaining the Authority's linear assets. He establishes and oversees comprehensive asset management, environmental and cost reduction programs. These programs focus on preventive and corrective maintenance, energy conservation and environmental sustainability. Mr. Hughes also ensures compliance with local environmental and permitting requirements and federal regulatory requirements for the distribution system infrastructure.

In addition, Mr. Hughes is responsible for the department's environmental reporting and compliance requirements associated with the Safe Drinking Water Act and the Clean Water Act. He oversees the department's research efforts and strategic planning initiatives.

Previously at the Authority, Mr. Hughes was Manager, Department of Water Services Operations. In that role, he managed the branch responsible for the operational repair and replacement of the water distribution system. Prior to joining the Authority, Mr. Hughes was a construction management consultant at Alpha Corporation. While there, he provided project development and support for planning, design and construction of large scale transportation, civil infrastructure and building projects. Mr. Hughes worked on projects in Alexandria and Loudoun County, Va.

Mr. Hughes has a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering from North Carolina A&T State University. He is a member of the American Water Works Association, the Water Environment Federation. He is also a co-author of "Post-Tensioned Retrofitting Maintains Landmark's Aesthetic-Team effort, sophisticated technology solve problems at famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater creation." (2003).
