CSO 019 Overflow Structure Project

CSO_019

Overview

The CSO 019 Overflow Structure Project, located on National Park Service property and just south of RFK Stadium, included the construction of a tunnel overflow structure. The structure controls tunnel overflows to the Anacostia River when the tunnel capacity is exceeded while providing solids and floatable control. The overflow structure was built into the landscape and includes an extensive planting plan along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail.

Schedule

The overflow structure was completed in late 2013 and placed into permanent operation in March 2018.
