Westbound M Street Lane Closure Begins August 20

(Washington, DC) – DC Water will resume construction on M Street, NW as part of the Large Valve Replacements Project.

Beginning Monday, August 20, 2012 through Saturday, September 15, 2012, weather permitting, crews will be working in one westbound lane on M Street, NW near Key Bridge.

Crews will complete large valve replacement work, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

Impacts:
* There will be closure of one westbound lane on M Street
during work hours.
* Excavation operations at the outset of the work will
require driving of piles into the ground, resulting in
extreme noise during abbreviated periods.
* Some traffic stops and delays within the vicinity of the
project area are anticipated.

Temporary traffic signs will be set up throughout the area to alert motorists to the upcoming lane closures.
